By Hand - Danny Healy (winds)

Really happy to be part of Danny Healy's By Hand project at Mona again this year. Danny spends the day at Mona composing music, and at 4 p.m. his new works are performed by an ensemble. I will again be part of the Monday group with Hamish Houston (bs) and Tom Robb (dr). Last year Danny wrote literally hundreds of tunes in styles varying from early jazz to samba, swing, tango, ballad, Afro 6/8, and even some haunting modal melodies evocative of Armenia or Turkey. A remarkable feat of not only creativity but endurance! Thorougly looking forward to it!
