Superb musicianship from all the players and expertly crafted compositions from Denson make for a colourful, joyous and spirited journey." Sandy Evans, saxophonist/composer, OAM

Reviews of On the Level

“…Denson’s play on My Favorite Things is simply exquisite: …her solo includes long idea development….it all hangs together elegantly… this performance is the best instrumental version of the tune I’ve heard outside of the Coltrane orbit.” Cadence Magazine

“…impressive and well-paced…”  Montreal Mirror

“Denson has…a strong Latin influence….apparent in tracks such as the sublime title tune [Clean Start]…” Brisbane Courier-Mail

“…excellent collection…from the romantic…to sizzling up-tempo tunes…and hypnotic, finger-clicking rhythms…” Brisbane Courier-Mail

“…[Denson’s compositions] are not just improvising vehicles, they are pieces, which, with their rhythmic momentum and attractive chord changes, all but ensure that strong improvisations emerge…… [Denson’s solos] sustain bold outlines and cleanly articulated ideas.” Limelight Magazine

Sanctuary features an elegant, fluent solo from Denson….” “…attractive music, played with expertise and enthusiasm.” Rhythms
